About Us

Hi! We’re Mike and Patty, the husband-and-wife team behind L.I. Salty Kids Cove.

We both grew up on Long Island and actually met in high school at Sachem North — third period lunch to be exact. Twenty-five years later, we’re still a team in every sense of the word. Mike works in finance and I’m the creative one who loves design, kids, and planning events. Together we combine our strengths to build something special for families in our community.

Before opening Salty Kids Cove, I spent over 10 years working in the restaurant industry and eventually became a catering manager and event planner. I always loved creating memorable experiences for families. At the same time, I was studying psychology and counseling and became passionate about childhood development and the importance of play.

As parents of three children — a teenage son and twin girls — we saw firsthand how much kids today are surrounded by screens. While studying child development, I kept learning how critical play is for building confidence, creativity, social skills, and emotional growth. I always dreamed of creating a space where kids could learn, explore, and just be kids again.

That dream became L.I. Salty Kids Cove — a beach-inspired indoor play space where families can relax while children enjoy immersive, hands-on play. Safety, creativity, and community are at the heart of everything we do. From birthday parties and classes to open play and date-night drop-offs, we designed The Cove to be a place where kids can grow, parents can breathe, and families can make lasting memories.

We truly believe childhood should be filled with imagination, movement, kindness, and connection — not just screens.
